Mitsubishi Electric began offering our CritiCool® products in 2021.

We partnered with Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems S.p.A (MEHITS), another Mitsubishi Electric factory in Italy, who has been manufacturing and servicing IT Cooling and commercial cooling products for over 50 years in Europe and other markets.

No. We manufacture and sell cooling products specifically designed for the data center industry.

Wall-Mounted Direct Expansion (DX-P) Cooling System

Our Wall-Mounted Direct Expansion Cooling systems (10-40kW) are specifically designed for cooling pre-fabricated modular data centers containing auxiliary backup power supplies and electrical/IT equipment.

Our products are purpose-built for mission critical applications with a design focus on high Sensible Capacity and efficiency.

Because the electrical equipment is in an unoccupied room and does not generate humidity, you don’t need high latent cooling capacity (the ability to remove moisture from the surrounding environment), which is common in comfort cooling systems.

Dive into the efficiency differences between comfort cooling and CritiCool® cooling.

Mitsubishi Electric uses sophisticated high-speed controller, and other special technologies, that separates us from other products in the market. To ensure our customers get the highest value - and warranty - our products must be started up by a Mitsubishi Electric Technician or an Authorized Service Provider (ASP).

Yes! We offer both the traditional up (over) and innovative down (under) airflow versions. This article discusses the differences and benefits of each version.

There are two types of compressor options: Inverter and On/off.

The 10 and 20kW models are offered in both inverter or on/off compressors, but the 40kW is only available in the inverter compressor option for maximum efficiency.

Yes. We have different options for BMS communications cards (BACnet, SNMP, and Modbus). There are also dry contacts for alarm indication.

Our DX-P Cooling Systems have an SHR ranging from 0.97 to 1.0, meaning 97-100% of the energy supplied by the compressor is used for Sensible Heat Removal.

A higher SHR means less coolers are required to condition a space, leading to lower operating costs. This is discussed further in our CritiCool® Cooling vs Comfort Cooling blog post.

Specifications

Our systems can operate with outdoor air temperatures from 0°F (-18°C) to 125°F (52°C). An optional "Economizer" (or "Free Cooling") package extends functionality to -40°F (-40°C).

Our DX Cooling Systems require a 460V, 3PH + ground power input. Check out the DX-P Data Sheet for more information.

Model Side Clearance
10kW 8 inches
20kW 8 inches
40kW 18 inches

The minimal side clearance from system to system is one of the many things that makes our products so unique!

Currently, the refrigerant we use is R410A.

Yes! Our cooling systems are designed for outdoor installation as typically required for wall-mounted cooling systems.

Yes! You can LAN up to 15 units for a single system. The controller will manage the standby (redundant) units and balance the compressor cycle time without the need for any additional controls or integration.

No. Our DX-P is a packaged cooling system complete with condensing and evaporating sides. The systems are fully-tested, and the refrigerant is charged.
